The Band
Ray Stable blends honest rock hooks with break-beat R&B into an ambient sound all their own. A cerebral departure from traditional guitar, bass and drums, Ray Stable delivers a message felt by all five senses. A fusion of rock, funk and country, Ray Stable is best described as rural hip-pop. Ray Stable’s introductory album summarizes the tragedies and celebrations that became the story of a fictional man with a twisted life. Future albums will delve deeper into his life experiences revealing untold stories and melodies. Experience life through the eyes of those who know his story

The Story:
A mysterious transient appears who exists somewhere in between the harsh urban city and the calm tranquility of the western countryside. Nobody knows exactly where Ray came from, but the wild desert country outside city limits is his playground. He’s no stranger to the dark alley street culture of the big city. He ventures into city limits seeking answers to life’s greatest questions but disappears into the landscape in solitude. Some describe his life as tragic. The love of his life was killed in a car crash on a long deserted desert highway, with him at the wheel, surviving the horrible incident. He never recovered fully from the accident that took his love and his happiness. Nobody knows just how old he is, or when he lost his wife. Some say he has never aged a bit since the accident. Some say he can even communicate with the wild, and speak to the dead. His story starts in Detroit as a kid listening to the sweet sounds of the motor city: Before his 20th birthday he was drafted into the Vietnam war, eventually serving three consecutive tours of duty. Coming home wasn’t easy for him. He felt dishonored and betrayed by his fellow citizens. He eventually found a job in music as a roadie for a handful of rock acts of the late 70’s. Extensive touring and drug addiction was an escape for his wounded mind. The last of his days were lived with his wife Sylvia until her accidental death, which led to his tragic suicide and journey to the other side.
